Primary school "Ivo Lola Ribar", Sombor, Serbia. There are 960 pupils attending the school, in main building, and in Šikara. There are 37 classes, 75 employees (51 teachers). In our school, there is a long tradition of pupils free activities and competitions. The very best results, our pupils have made in sports, singing, mathematics' chemistry, biology, technical science...

School has very good relations with local community and donator organizations. One of our biggest donators is The American's Donation Foundation (ADF- US AID). With their help, our school with over 900 pupils, now has two gym's and computer science center.
During the day, gym's are used by pupils and in the evening, gym's are used by
many sport's clubs
(volley boll, basket ball, karate, small soccer...).
Computer center of Peoples Community Gornja Varoš with 14
modern Pentium IV computers is being used by all pupils from school. In the
evening, it is being used by the citizens of Peoples Community Gornja Varoš.
Till now, 450 citizens learned the basics in using the computer.
Basic training
consists of: how to use MS Windows XP, MS Word, MS
Excel and the Internet. In order to apply for the
computer course, you must contact our Local Community on
025/460-321 (Peoples Local Community Gornja Varoš).
Our Scholl cooperates with partner school in Vienna, Austria. There is
cooperation on many fields, in order to exchange experiences in teaching and
possibilities for improvement of teaching techniques, as well as making projects
together. There is a constant exchange of works between our and Austrian
pupils. All works are team made in our school and in school in Austria. In that
way, we try to improve our students teem work skills and improving their
creativity.

School has a constant contacts with The Ministry of Education. As a result of that, The Ministry of Education has been informed about our cooperation with partner school in Vienna, Austria. For that project, our school has got some financial help from The Ministry of Education 100.000 dinars (1.200 euros). More...
